In this way, they would set a special price for those who would like to share their password with family members and friends. They revealed this information after they released the earnings the company had had. It was the same day that they told their shareholders about their annual report.
When will Netflix change its sharing password policy?
Despite the fact that so far Netflix users have been able to share their password with anyone they wanted to, this free password sharing is going to end by March. If you would like to share your password, you will have to pay for it. So, this change will mean that if you have a Netflix account it will only be for the people who live in one household together.
Therefore, those who do not live in the same house would need an account of their own. So, the new update will be ready pretty soon. There are different ways for Netflix to see if you are using the account from the same house. They will need to pay close attention to IP addresses as well as the IDs your devices have. In this way, they can see which device and where it is being used.
What about their basic-with-ads plan?
This plan is available since last November 3, 2022 and its price is 6,99 dollars. This is a much cheaper plan which allows you to watch movies and TV shows. However, its resolution is not that good since it is just HD. Premium price has the possibility to watch it in Ultra HD without ads. The basic plan has other disadvantages like using 1 device at a time.
Moreover, you can only use certain content, some movies, and television shows are unavailable. Netflix has now over 100 million households subscribed all over the world. They know that the new password-sharing policy may not be a popular thing to do.
