Millions of United States citizens with a disability receive an extra Social Security check. Likewise, another large number of United States citizens may receive this payment but are unaware of it. And since all financial help is welcome, any citizen in this situation should check all kinds of payments he or she may receive.
Within the Social Security pensions there are many different ones. We have the pensioner’s payment for retirement by age. We also have the widow’s and widower’s payments. Likewise, there is also the orphan’s pensioner’s pension. On the other hand, there is also the disability payment. And this last payment can be accompanied by an extra check of up to $914.
With only a few requirements we will be able to apply for this extra payment. And it seems unbelievable, but thousands of Americans who have access to the payment do not know they can apply for it. So pay attention to check whether or not you will have access to this monthly benefit that can be of great help to any American who receives it.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SOCIAL SECURITY DISABILITY INCOME EXTRA PAYMENT
The extra payments for this benefit are called Supplemental Security Income. This benefit is only for the most needy United States citizens. In order to qualify for this check, it is necessary to meet two requirements. If we do not meet both requirements, we will not be able to receive the benefit.

These are the two mandatory requirements to receive the Supplemental Security Income:
- Have a disability or be over 65 years of age.
- Have a low monthly income and low income.
As can be seen in the requirements, not only beneficiaries with a disability can access the check. In addition to them, also citizens who are 65 years of age or older. It is not mandatory to have a Social Security pensioner in order to receive Supplemental Security Income.
There is a free tool called Best Tool that can be used to find out if we have access to this benefit. In a matter of minutes we will be able to find out. Once we know we can apply for a check, we just have to ask for it and we will get it every month.
WHEN DOES SUPPLEMENTAL SECURITY INCOME ARRIVE?
The Supplemental Security Income payment always arrives on the 1st of the month for citizens with a disability. Although it is true that there are times when due to an irregularity in the calendar, the payment may arrive on a different day.
If the 1st of the month is a holiday or weekend, the Administration sends this benefit on the immediately preceding working day. This means that in some months we may get the payment twice and in other months we may not get it at all.
Beneficiaries with a disability with SSI can receive up to $914 in each check, although the amount is different for everyone. The final amount will depend on the conditions of each citizen.
