The increase in Social Security Disability benefits in the United States is something we may see once a year. However, that increase may not be enough for millions of Americans. And that is because the increase is not up to the citizen himself, it is a government decision.

Still, any increase is always welcome, which means that retirees with a disability benefit can have extra money each year. In the coming months we will find ourselves with this increase included.

But we still have to wait a while before we get this benefit increase. However, the increase will arrive in the same way it arrives every year, so we can be happy about the situation.

In this sense, any beneficiaries with a disability or age retirement benefit will be able to directly enjoy some extra dollars very soon. Those extra dollars will be part of the monthly benefit.

This means that from the time the increase goes into effect we will find that the Social Security check will maintain the increase year after year. And then it will increase again, since it is an annual process.

WHEN DOES DISABILITY BENEFIT ARRIVE WITH THE INCREASE INCLUDED?

Within the month of September we will not see a disability benefit increase, but we will see a new check. To get the increase in the Social Security checks we will have to wait until early 2024. The first of the 2024 payments to disability beneficiaries will be on the 3rd of the month.

This payment will be for retirees with a pre-1997 benefit and will include the new increase stipulated by the Social Security Administration. However, before that, during the month of September, retirees will be able to get new checks. The Administration will send out a new check tomorrow and on September 27th as well.

WHAT WILL THE SOCIAL SECURITY TAIL INCREASE BE?

It is still too early to determine what the exact COLA will be in 2024. This increase will be around 3%, according to experts. Still, it is not possible to know this figure exactly until mid-October.

Around October 16 we will find out the exact figure for the increase in disability benefits. This means we still have to wait a few days before we know how much the Social Security checks will increase.

Once we know what the COLA figure will be we will not have to do anything to get the increase. The process is completely automatic, which means that beneficiaries can get the payment in a straightforward manner without having to do anything else, whether it is a disability check or something else.
