The new Social Security benefits will reach the bank accounts of United States residents in less than 10 days. This will be the case only for a group of citizens who meet the established requirements. In the case of not meeting the requirements to be within the group, retirees will still be able to cash the check, but on a different day.
Likewise, some retirees have already received the benefit and have been enjoying it since 1st September. Generally speaking, each group receives the money on a different day and with some exceptions we simply have to know the requirements of each group. So if you are in the second group of retirees you will be able to enjoy Social Security in the next week.
Regardless of all this, the method of payment can also influence the day on which we will receive the money. Depending on the collection method we have active, we may receive Social Security sooner or later. That is why it is so important to control all the details in our hands to avoid delays in retirement payments.
WHO RECEIVES THE NEW SOCIAL SECURITY CHECK?
The group of retirees who receive the new Social Security checks must meet two mandatory requirements. In addition to those two requirements, there is another extra requirement if they want the money to show up in the bank account on the same day of payment.
These are the two requirements:
- Have the benefit since after 1997.
- To have your birthday between the 1st and 10th of the month.
As for the extra requirement to cash the check on the same day the money is sent, we are talking about the cashing method. In this sense, it is mandatory to activate Direct Deposit if we do not want delays with the collection of benefits.
The Administration will send the check on the next September 13th, 2023. If both of the above requirements are met, the check will arrive on the same day with Direct Deposit. If we have not activated this method of payment, the money may arrive up to 3 days later, although sometimes it takes a little longer.
After this payment there are two more pensioner payments this month. These other two payments will be on the 20th and 27th of September. On each of these days a different group of retirees will receive their check depending on the birthday and year of retirement.
It is important to note that the type of pensioner’s pension does not matter in determining the day of payment. Therefore, Social Security will arrive on the same day to disability and age retirees if they meet the above conditions.
