One of the best things about stimulus checks in the United States is that they can come from many different institutions. Even in some states we can get more than one of these extra payments. That means that some Americans can have a good amount of extra money for whatever they need.
Still, there are always some requirements to meet. The most obvious one in these cases is to live within the state providing the check. But it is not the only requirement, as there are several more depending on the particular stimulus check.
And although it is true that at the official level the name of these extra payments is not stimulus check, all Americans know this type of benefit by that name. That is why there are so many types of this benefit. Each new check offers a new payment and this makes the list grow longer and longer.
And this time we find that the citizens of Alabama will be able to get this new stimulus check of up to $300. To get it we have to meet certain requirements and there is still time to do so. Will you be getting one of these new extra payments?
HOW TO GET ALABAMA’S STIMULUS CHECK?
The payment of this benefit is made directly from the taxes we have paid. Therefore, in order to receive this stimulus check, it is necessary to have made a Tax Return. The Tax Return is mandatory for all citizens who have any kind of income.
In the case of the State of Alabama, if we have sent the 2021 taxes before October 17, 2022 it is possible that we will get this extra check in the next few weeks. The funding for this benefit comes from Alabama’s Education Trust Fund.
Best of all, we don’t have to take any action to apply for the check. If we already have it accepted we will get it in the next few weeks. The payment will depend on whether we filed as a couple or individually.
For couples, the payment will be $300. On the other hand, for single filers this stimulus check will be only $150. If you have met all the requirements, all you have to do is wait to get it.
CAN I COMBINE THIS PAYMENT WITH THE SUPPLEMENTAL SECURITY INCOME?
In most cases, Supplemental Security Income is compatible with all of these checks. This is because these payments are completely outside of your regular income. In the case of SSI, what the Social Security Administration takes into account is your monthly income.
Even so, remember that you must always send all of your income to Social Security to be able to collect SSI without any problems. If you get this stimulus check or any other check, you must report your income immediately.
Regardless of whether the amount is $150 or $300, we must report income from this check, even if it is a one-time check and we will not get it again in the future. It should not interfere with our other benefits, but it is our duty to report that we have received it.
