United States taxpayers can now start sending their 2023 Tax Return to the IRS. Tax Season 2024 has already begun, so Americans who are required to send the documentation should do so as soon as possible. Although it is true that the Tax Season lasts quite a long time, it is also true that if we leave everything until the end we could have problems.
However, we cannot rush to send the documents without thinking about everything we are doing. It is essential to take each step in an orderly and unhurried manner. We have to do things and send the documentation to the IRS, yes, but we have to do things right. If we make mistakes we could pay dearly, so we have to be attentive to everything we do when sending the Tax Return.
Each year the process is the same, so if you have filed your Tax Return with the IRS in previous years you may be familiar with the list of actions. Even so, every precaution is small when we talk about not making mistakes with taxes, so we must have everything in mind and prepared before sending all the necessary documents to the Internal Revenue Service.
What should we keep in mind before sending the Tax Return to the IRS?
The first thing to keep in mind before sending the Tax Return to the IRS is the time that the Tax Season lasts. While it is true that it started on January 29th, 2024, the Tax Season will end on April 15th, 2024. This means that we still have time to submit our documents with peace of mind.

The sooner we send the documents, the sooner we will get the Tax Refund if we are eligible. But if we send the documents early without the forms well completed we could have problems in the future. So we must pay close attention to what we do with all the papers.
Before we send the documentation, we must keep in mind that:
- The sooner we send the Tax Return, the sooner we will get our Tax Refund from the IRS.
- If we send the documentation online, the process will be expedited.
- We must complete all the forms without errors. Any mistake can cause our Tax Refund to be delayed a lot.
- We must not forget all the documentation related to our income. The IRS might ask for it later and this will delay the whole process even more.
- If we need help, we can ask for it. For some Americans, there is official help from the IRS that we can ask for totally free.
- In the case of contacting a private advisor we have to make sure that he is official and that he will sign our documents in a legal way. If not, we could be the victim of a scam.
Knowing all this we could speed up a lot the process of our Tax Return. Remember that we have until the 15th of April to be able to send the documents, but the IRS will grant an extension to some States and some citizens.
