The first week of February may be a good one for many United States citizens collecting Social Security. The Administration will send new checks to retirees who meet certain requirements. If we meet two mandatory requirements, we will be able to get the money even on the same day the Administration sends it.
The important thing in these cases is to know what information we have to comply with in order to determine if we will get the payment in the first week of February or not. Not only that, but we could also get an extra check from Social Security on the 1st of the month. This would mean an additional payment of up to $943 which would be a blessing for many citizens who are waiting to get such a benefit.
Still, the important thing is to focus on the benefit we already have, so we should be aware of what the requirements are to get the payment in the first days of February. If we know the requirements, the organization in the economy of the family will be much more effective. So pay attention to what are the conditions of the Social Security Administration and mark on the calendar the day when you could get this check.
Requirements to get Social Security in the first week of February
We are actually talking about a totally mandatory requirement for the Social Security Administration to send us check in the first week of February. The second requirement is not mandatory as such, but it is recommended, since by fulfilling it we will have the possibility of having the money available at the same time the Administration sends it.
For this reason, there are two requirements:
- To have a check accepted before 1997. It does not matter the day of your birthday or other requirements. This is the only mandatory requirement to be part of group 1 of retirees who will be paid on February 2, 2024.
- Activate Direct Deposit as a payment method. Only by activating this collection method we will be able to get the payment on the same day the Administration sends it. So pay attention to this detail and activate this payment method if you want to get the money as soon as possible.
If we do not activate this collection method, we will not have the money available on the same day of sending, but we will get it anyway. Also, if you are not a Group 1 Social Security retiree, the money will arrive in your checking account on the day it is due.
In total, the Administration will send checks on 4 different days. Those retirees who are not paid on February 2nd will be able to collect on the 14th, 21st or 28th, depending on their birthday. These groups have one thing in common, and that is that all of them have as their main requirement to have applied for Social Security retirement after 1997. The birthday will determine whether a retiree collects a check earlier or later.
