Retirees in their 70s could get a new check from United States Social Security in just a few days. Americans on the list will be able to get this payment of up to $4,555 that will make their finances better for the entire month.
Still, watch out for the list of beneficiaries, as not all retirees with a check can get this money. Only eligible beneficiaries will have this payment in their pocket within a few days.
And best of all, not only 70-year-old beneficiaries can get this payment, but any other type of retiree who has the benefit accepted. In this sense, both disability and non-disability beneficiaries will be able to enjoy the Social Security check next September 20th.
The only thing we have to do is to check the requirements for this benefit. If we check these requirements and it turns out that we are on the list we just have to wait to get the check. And if we choose the right method of payment, we will be able to get the benefit money on the same day it is sent.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SEPTEMBER 20TH SOCIAL SECURITY CHECK
By fulfilling only two mandatory requirements we will be able to enjoy a new check for up to $4,555 on September 20th. These two requirements are indispensable, so if you don’t meet them you will have to get the check on another day.
Let’s look at those two requirements to get the new Social Security payment:
- Have a benefit since after 1997.
- You must have a birthday between the 11th and 20th of the month.
If you have had a benefit since before 1997, the payment day is the 3rd of the month as usual, although in September it was the 1st. In the case of having a birthday on a different day, the check would arrive on the 27th day of September or it arrived on the 13th day of the same month.
SECOND SUPPLEMENTAL SECURITY INCOME
The Social Security Supplemental Security Income payment arrives for the second time this month. Due to an irregularity in the calendar, we find that the check for this benefit appears twice in the payment calendar.
This is due to the fact that October 1st is a weekend. As this happens, the payment day becomes the immediately preceding working day. In this particular case we are talking about September 29th.
By activating Direct Deposit we will have this extra payment on the same day of shipment. However, it is also important to keep in mind that this method of payment is for all benefits that Social Security may send.
So if you want to forget about delays in collections, activate Direct Deposit and you will have each benefit in your pocket on the same day that the Administration sends it.
