In the United States, Disability benefit checks from the Social Security Administration can always reach Americans’ pockets on time. However, there are months when we may find that the disability check arrives later. Couple that with a slower collection method and you can find yourself with a check very late in the month.
For that reason, being clear on the best method of receiving each of your Social Security checks is really critical. Otherwise, the payment could be really late. We are talking about that the disability benefit could arrive up to 5 days late from the date of mailing by the Social Security Administration.
In this regard, many invoices could pose a problem for citizens with this benefit. This is because bills usually arrive at the first of the month. If the disability benefit check does not arrive until the third week of the month, it may be too late. For this reason it is essential to activate Direct Deposit as a collection method.
Who receives the disability benefit in the next payment?
There is only one requirement to receive the next disability check on time. That requirement is to have Direct Deposit activated. The moment we activate this payment method, our disability benefit will appear immediately in our pocket as soon as the Administration sends it.
Therefore, we are talking about a great advantage over not having this payment method. But besides this we have to remember that the next of the checks will not reach all Americans, since this payment only belongs to one group. The group that receives the next Social Security payment has to pass two filters:
- Have retirement accepted after the year 1997.
- Have a birthday between the 1st and 10th of the month.
The collection day will be the next June 14th. This is the second Wednesday of the month, but it is the third week of the month. It is customary for beneficiaries with a disability to receive this check in the second week of the month.
In addition to this payment, there are other payments that the Social Security Administration will send out on the remaining days of June. These are the other payments for the month:
- June 21st. Payment for post-1997 retirees with a date of birth between the 11th and 20th of the month.
- June 28th. Check for post-1997 disability beneficiaries with birthdays between the 21st and 31st of the month.
- June 30th. July Supplemental Security Income payment.
And remember, it doesn’t matter if the check we have accepted is for disability or age retirement. The Social Security Administration will send payments indifferently to the different groups of retirees.
