SSI benefits are a type of check that only comes to some United States citizens. Supplemental Security Income is a benefit that, despite what many people think, does not reach Americans every month. Apart from the irregularities of the calendar we must also take into account the requirements to obtain the check.
So if you want to receive a direct payment of $914 SSI per month you have to look at the eligibility list. In this regard, you also have to look at the day of the payment. As we have discussed, sometimes there are irregularities. While it is true that the calendar is usually very stable, sometimes it is not possible to receive the money on the same days as usual.
Regardless of the day you receive SSI, if you do not meet the requirements, it is impossible to receive this monthly benefit. So check your checks carefully so that you can cash your payment and have a check for $914 in your pocket on September 1st. In addition to that, the Social Security Administration will send another different check on this day. Therefore, we will have two different checks if we meet all the requirements.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE $914 SSI CHECK
The $914 SSI check is the largest of all the checks. This means that not all Americans on SSI can receive such a large check. Only the least well-off Americans are eligible to receive this amount. While it is true that this is the maximum, it is also possible to receive a smaller Supplemental Security Income check.
The requirements to receive the payment on the 1st are simply to have the Supplemental Security Income benefit previously accepted. This means, therefore, that we meet all the eligibility conditions for this benefit.
The first thing to keep in mind when applying for SSI is that only citizens 65 years of age or older can apply for Supplemental Security Income. Likewise, Americans with a disability can also apply for the check despite their age.
On the other hand, it is mandatory to justify low monthly income, as well as low economic resources in general. These are the only two requirements to obtain the SSI benefit on September 1st.
Since there is no minimum SSI check, it is not possible to know the exact amount for each American. The maximum is $914, but that does not mean we will receive that dollar amount.
As we discussed earlier, there is another check on the same 1st of the month. This other check is the retirement or disability pensioner’s check. But only beneficiaries with a pre-1997 benefit will receive this check from Social Security. So if you are a pre-1997 retiree with SSI accepted you will be able to receive both payments on the same day.
