Although many citizens think otherwise, United States Social Security does not send out all retirement benefit checks on the same day. On the contrary, the Administration sends a total of 4 different checks on 4 different days. And each of these payments depends on various conditions.
Even so, retirees can only get one benefit each month, unless they have a different check. With a retirement, either disability or age-related, it is only possible to access one check per month. If we have a Supplemental Security Income payment, for example, we may get more than one payment in most months.
Regardless of the type of benefit we have, we will find ourselves with a check in the next few days if we meet the requirements. There are only two conditions and if we do not pass these filters we will not be able to get a check.
This payment is for retirees of 62 years of age as well as for any other citizen who meets the established requirements. Just by fulfilling two conditions we will be able to receive the payment in the next few days.
WHO GETS THE NEXT SOCIAL SECURITY PAYMENT?
The next Social Security payment will be on December 13th. In order to get this check we have to be part of group 2 of retirees. This group is made up of some post-1997 beneficiaries.
In order for us to see more clearly what the conditions are, let’s take a look at the exact requirements:
- It is mandatory to have the Social Security benefit after 1997.
- It is mandatory to have a birthday between the 1st and 10th of any month.
And there are no other requirements, but it is important to meet these two. Without fulfilling these two conditions we would be part of a different group, which would cause us to receive the payment on a different day.
Besides that, remember that by activating Direct Deposit we will be able to get the payment immediately. Without this collection method it may take up to 3 days for the money to appear, so we will have to wait a few more days.
OTHER RETIREMENT PAYMENTS IN DECEMBER 2023
When the Social Security Administration sends the December 13th payment it will still have two more payments to send. In total there are 4 payments that the Administration sends out during the entire month and we only have access to one of those payments.
If our check is not on the 13th day we don’t have to worry about anything. The payment will arrive on one of the next two days. These are the other two remaining payments that the Administration will send this last month of the year:
- December 20th. Social Security payment for retirees with birthdays between the 11th and 10th and a post-1997 benefit.
- December 27th. Retirees with a post-1997 benefit and a birthday between the 21st and 31st of the month.
Fulfilling these requirements we will get the payment on one of these days. After that there is one more payment on December 29th, but that payment is only for Supplemental Security Income beneficiaries.
