SSDI benefit retirees in the United States could get a new check in just a few days by meeting two requirements. In addition, since it is the last payment for the month of October, it is possible that if we don’t get it now, it will already be in our bank account. The Social Security payment calendar is very clear as to the dates of mailing, so just by looking at the requirements we will be able to know on which day we will cash our check each month.
On October 25, the Administration is mailing out the last Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) checks for the month of October. However, this does not mean that retirees who have not yet received their payment will get it on that same day. This is important to understand, since in order to receive the payment on that date it is necessary to meet two requirements, just as on the other paydays.
Even so, it is essential to know which group of retirees we belong to. Being in group 1 or 3 can significantly change the date on which the Administration sends us the payment. In total, there are 4 different groups that receive SSDI in a month and the type of retirement is not relevant in determining which group we belong to. What matters is the year of retirement and the day of birth.
However, when we talk about calendar days, we are referring to the day the Administration sends the payments. Whether or not we receive the funds exactly on that day will also depend on the payment method we have chosen. If we opt for Direct Deposit, the payment will arrive immediately. Otherwise, we will have to wait a few days until the disability benefit appears in our pocket. Also, it is important to remember that the text cannot be re-edited with 30 additional words.
WHO WILL COLLECT THE NEW SSDI PAYMENT?
The new SSDI payment will arrive on October 25th, but it is not for all retirees. In order to collect this payment it is mandatory to be within the eligibility criteria. This means that we will need to meet two requirements to be eligible to get this benefit.
These two conditions are very simple and are related to our own personal information. That is why it is not possible to change the day we collect our monthly check, but it will always be the same no matter how much we want to change it. Let’s look at the two requirements:
- Have been on SSDI since after 1997.
- Your birthday is between the 21st and 31st of any month.
If these two conditions are met, the Social Security Administration will send us the SSDI on October 25th. The rest of the retirees should already have the payment in these days of the month, since the payment on October 25th is the last of the month.
The Social Security Administration sent the checks on October 3rd, October 11th and October 18th. On each of these days a different group of retirees got their benefits.
