Checks of about $1,907 for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) or VA beneficiaries are on the way for thousands of Americans. Getting one of these new checks is only possible if we meet the mandatory requirements for each group.
In all, the Social Security Administration sends Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) checks to four different groups of retirees. Depending on which group of retirees we belong to, we will either be able to collect the next check or we will have to wait a little longer.
Who gets access to the next day’s SSDI or VA check?
Only a specific group of Americans can collect this new check on April 17th, 2024. The payment averages $1,907, according to information filed in recent months by the Social Security Administration. But that does not imply that all beneficiaries can reach that figure.
Each retiree has a different disability benefit (SSDI) payment. Likewise, VA payments are also entirely individual. But the amount does not imply on the day we get each of the checks. Likewise, the type of retirement does not change the day of collection either.
The two requirements to be able to get this new check are:
- To have a birthday between the 11th and 20th of any month.
- To have the benefit as from May 1997.
Only in this way will we be able to access the check on April 17th. Those Americans who do not meet these two requirements will have to collect their benefit on a totally different day. It could be on April 24th of this year or wait until May to get the SSDI money.
What other benefits can I get with SSDI?
SSDI and VA checks are compatible with an extra benefit that Social Security sends out each month. This extra benefit is Supplemental Security Income. The check for this benefit can be as much as $943 per month.
This makes the checks very important to many families, as they perfectly complement retirement payments. However, not all Americans can apply for this Supplemental Security Income payment.
If we want this benefit, we must be 65 years of age or older or have a disability, although it is not mandatory to have SSDI. It is also mandatory to have low resources and low monthly income. This way we can get this extra benefit on the 1st of each month.
