United States citizens have until February 15th to claim stimulus cheques of up to $800

Social Security – New SSI 2023 payment of $914 in just 24 hours

67-year-old retirees will receive their first Social Security paychecks in February 2023

The Social Security Administration has already announced the payment schedule for users in the United States. This calendar includes retirement and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments. As is customary in this type of calendar, Social Security cheques are always sent out on the second, third and fourth Wednesday of the month.

On each of these days, a different group of retirees receives payment, regardless of the reason for retirement. However, the SSI payment is totally different. There are not different groups getting paid on different days, but rather Social Security sends all the cheques on the same day to all recipients.

So if you are an SSI recipient, you should be aware that there are months when Social Security will not send a cheque for a particular reason. But there is no need to worry, because in the end every month we will get the SSI cheque sooner or later. Will you have access to these particular cheques?

Why Social Security will not send out SSI cheques?

To find out which months the Social Security Administration will not send us a cheque, we must know exactly on what day it usually pays these benefits. As a general rule, the SSA pays SSI cheques on the 1st of each month. This means, therefore, that at the beginning of the month we can enjoy the money if we have the proper collection method activated.

However, when the 1st of each month is a holiday or weekend, the dates change. Since the Social Security Administration does not work on those days, workers send the cheques on the immediately preceding business day. For this reason, there are months when many retirees do not receive a cheque.

In what months will I not receive an SSI cheque?

Knowing the above information, now we just need to cheque the calendar to see which 1st of the month is a holiday. These are the months in which the 1st of the month is a holiday. Then the Social Security Administration will not send an SSI cheque on that day:

  • January 2023. The payment was sent in December 2022.
  • April 2023. Since the 1st is a weekend, the payment will be sent by SSA on March 31, which is a Friday.
  • July 2023. The Social Security Administration will send the cheque on June 30, the preceding business day.
  • October 2023. The 1st of this month is Sunday. Therefore, the cheque will be mailed on September 30.

The rest of the months of the year, the cheque will be sent on the pre-set day. However, to receive the cheque in advance of the month, it is a good idea to activate Direct Deposit. Otherwise, the money may arrive in the bank account in the same month. So there will be no change in the schedule of these Social Security users.
