In the United States, only one group of retirees collects each Social Security payment day. The Administration does this to avoid delays in payments and crowds. In this way, during the month there are a total of 4 payment days, so retirees who want to know when they get paid only have to look at the calendar.
It is a really useful system because thanks to it it is possible to know in advance the organization of the Social Security payments. This way we will be able to find out on which day we will be paid each month and, therefore, we will organize our household economy much more efficiently.
Best of all, the type of benefit has nothing to do with the day of payment. To determine whether we will get our benefit on one day of the month or another, what we have to look at are other elements.
So just by looking at a couple of pieces of personal information we will know in an instant the day of the payment. It is important to know these details in order to determine the exact payment days, so don’t forget if you want to know when you will get your new Social Security payment.
WHO WILL GET THE LAST SOCIAL SECURITY PAYMENT FOR SEPTEMBER?
To collect the last of the September Social Security payments we must meet two requirements. In the event that we want to collect the payment on the same day it is sent, we must meet an extra requirement. But this last requirement is not mandatory, so we don’t have to worry about it.
These are the two mandatory requirements to get the next Social Security payment:
- Have a post-1997 benefit.
- You must have your birthday between the 21st and 31st of the month.
If you are in this group, you will be able to collect the new check on September 27th. This is the last day of retirement benefits for the month, but it is not the last one the Social Security Administration will send to Americans.
It is also important to activate Direct Deposit, which is the requirement to get the payment on the same day it is sent. This way we will be able to get the new benefit every month without having to wait a single day.
ANOTHER SSA PAYMENT IN SEPTEMBER
This is not the last Social Security payment in September. In addition to this check there is an extra one that will arrive on the 29th of the month. This extra payment is not part of the September payments, as it is an advance check for October.
Since October 1st is a weekend, the Administration sends the payment on the immediately preceding business day. This day is September 29th and the specific payment is Supplemental Security Income.
So if you have your last Social Security check of the month and Supplemental Security Income, you will be able to enjoy two direct payments in the last week of the month.
