Each United States Social Security collection day has its own requirements. In order to get each of these checks, it is necessary to belong to a specific group of citizens. However, as soon as we know which group of retirees we belong to, we will be able to mark on the calendar at what time of the month we will get a check.
Since the Social Security payment schedule follows certain structures, knowing the exact day of each month can be as easy as that. Even so, we must also keep in mind that there may be irregularities that change the collection days. Anyway, even taking irregularities into account, it is very easy to know when we will get each check in each month.
Conditions for the new Social Security payment
On August 14th we will have the new Social Security retirement payment. This payment will be the first of the checks for beneficiaries after May 1997. The Social Security Administration divides retirees into four different groups and of those general groups the next group to collect is Group 2.
And to be part of Group 2, you have to meet certain requirements. If we meet them, we will get the payment next August 14th, 2024. So try to pay attention to these requirements to mark on the calendar this collection day in case you are eligible.
The requirements are twofold:
- Have a benefit since after May 1997.
- Have a birthday between the 1st and 10th of any month.
If you are in this group, the Social Security Administration will always pay you your retirement check on the second Wednesday of the month, with some exceptions. And in August 2024, the second Wednesday of the month will be the 14th. Therefore, on that day you will be able to enjoy this new retirement check.
Remaining Social Security Payments in August 2024
After the payment on the 14th day of July, the Social Security Administration will send three other different checks to United States citizens. Being able to get these types of payments will not just depend on having retirement, as one of these checks is actually an extra payment.
The next Social Security Administration payment days in August are:
- August 21. Retirees with a post-May 1997 benefit who have a birthday between the 11th and the 20th collect on this day.
- August 28. Retirees with a post-May 1997 benefit who have a birthday between the 21st and 31st collect on this day.
- August 30. September Social Security Supplemental Security Income. The payment is brought forward because September 1 is a weekend.
Therefore, the payment on the last day of the month is actually the first of the September 2024 payments. The Social Security payment comes early because September 1st is a weekend.
