Thousands of 67-year-old retirees get two different Social Security checks in the next week

It is possible to get two different Social Security checks during the week of April 1st if you meet the requirements of the United States Government

You will get up to two Social Security check in the next weeks

Americans who do not have an accepted Social Security benefit will not be able to get one of the next United States retirement payments. However, it is true that they can get one check of the two that the Social Security Administration will send out.

Only one of the retirement checks will be the one sent by the Administration the week of April 1st. The other payment is not retirement, but Supplemental Security Income. For that reason, some Americans may get the payment without the need to be retired.

However, it is true that in most cases Supplemental Security Income recipients also have a Social Security retirement check, either because of age or Disability.

But it is possible to get this extra payment if you qualify without having to apply for retirement. This extra Social Security check reaches many more non-retired households than it may seem.

Eligibility for retirees age 67 to get 2 Social Security payments

Thousands of United States citizens who meet these two requirements will be able to get two Social Security checks in the next week. However, we need to meet all the requirements and also have the fastest collection method activated.

If we do not have it activated, we will not be able to collect the payment as soon as possible. We will get the check, but a few days later. So we need to pay attention to all the requirements in order to meet them perfectly.

The first of these Social Security payments is the Supplemental Security Income. This extra check for United States citizens will arrive on April 1st and there are two main requirements. On the one hand, you must be 65 years of age or older or have a disability. On the other hand, you must have low resources and low monthly income.

The second check to be sent by the Administration is the retirement payment. It does not matter the type of retirement, so both for Disability and for retirement due to age will arrive on April 3rd. To get payment we must have had the Social Security check accepted prior to 1997.

These two checks are compatible, but it is not mandatory to get one in order to receive the other. So we can collect only one of them, or even neither. If we are not part of this group of retirees, we will have to wait until the second, third or fourth Wednesday of the month to get our Social Security benefit.
