Only a group of retirees aged 65 will receive the new check within hours

Why will SSDI users not receive SSI in April?

Top reasons why Social Security checks do not arrive on time

Receiving a Social Security check each month for Supplemental Security Income is commonplace for many United States citizens. However, receiving two checks for the same benefit is not at all common. Supplemental Security Income is a monthly benefit payment and, therefore, the Social Security Administration sends it every month.

Even so, there are irregularities in the timing that force the Social Security Administration to send up to two different Supplemental Security Income checks in the same month. When this happens, it’s good to know who actually receives this double check. Ultimately, retirees and users with disabilities who receive this double check could have up to 3 different checks in the same month.

This is because Social Security pays the retirement check, either for disability or age, and also two Supplemental Security Income checks. This makes a total of 3 checks which if we add up the maximum of everything makes a total of $6,386 in the same month. While this may not be possible, since the SSI check is given to lower income recipients, the maximum of these three checks would come to this figure.

Anyone on Supplemental Security Income will receive a double check in March. There are no exceptions to this, as this Social Security payment comes equally to all eligible citizens. So if you are disabled and have a Supplemental Security Income benefit, you can expect two separate checks in March.

However, it should be noted that this will mean that in the month of April we may not receive one. The 1st day payment does pertain to March, but the 31st day payment is actually the SSI check for the month of April. So remember this so that you can control your monthly expenses so that you can have money for the entire month.

Receive up to 3 Social Security checks in March

As previously mentioned, citizens can receive up to 3 different Social Security checks. This is because two of them are directly from Supplemental Security Income and the other check belongs to age or disability retirees. Thus, this third check is actually the monthly pension.

And remember, if you don’t have Direct Deposit activated, you won’t get your April check in March, as it will take up to 3 days to arrive. So, activate Direct Deposit as your payment method and instantly receive each and every payment that Social Security sends each month.
