Paying taxes is a process that all United States citizens must go through. If we do not want to have financial problems with the IRS or the United States federal government, we must send our Tax Return on time. The IRS will check that all the information is correct once the documentation is received.
The Department of the Treasury relies heavily on payments from taxpayers. For that reason, we should always keep in mind that all taxes paid to the IRS are for the common good. The Commissioner of Internal Revenue announced the Tax Season through the IRS and its end date.
Now we are very close to the end of this Tax Season, so we must send as soon as possible our Tax Return to the IRS and avoid problems of penalties and fines attached to these documents. If we send our Tax Return to the IRS late we will have very large penalties depending on how late we send it.
When is the IRS Tax Season over?
The IRS Tax Season began on January 23rd, 2023. During this tax season, tax-related documents are sent out for the 2022 tax year. So expenses and income within the year 2023 are not included in this tax return. It is important to remember this so as not to make mistakes.
The last day taxpayers have to send the documentation is the 18th of April. So if you have not yet done so, you should do so as soon as possible. What is certain is that you will no longer be able to receive the corresponding Tax Refund quickly, if it belongs to you.
Still, it is advisable to send everything tax-related to the IRS as soon as possible. It is the best way to do things related to the United States federal government and its taxes.
Recommendations to send the Tax Return
Now that we know the deadline to send the Tax Return we are going to see a few recommendations for taxpayers to send their documentation in the best possible way:
- Don’t make mistakes in the documentation. Any mistake linked to personal information, mathematics or anything else can end up in trouble. Avoid making mistakes and always check your documentation before submitting it.
- Seek help if you need it. There are many advisors who help people submit their paperwork to the IRS.
- Include all income throughout the year. Even tips are taxable, so don’t forget to include them on your tax return.
- Do the whole process electronically. This way you will get your Tax Refund faster.
- Activate Direct Deposit to receive the payment. The IRS will send the money as soon as it accepts your Tax Refund documentation. If you activate Direct Deposit, the money will appear automatically in your bank account.
There is still time to file your Tax Return and send it to the IRS, but watch out and don’t miss the deadline.
