Receiving this new Social Security payment in the first week of September will only be possible for a specific group of United States citizens. In case we have a retirement check and we belong to group 1 of retirees, we will be able to get the payment. Otherwise, the check on this day will not arrive, but we will have to wait a little longer to have the benefit money in our pockets.
If you are part of groups 2, 3 or 4 of Social Security retirees, the checks will arrive in the next few weeks. To be part of each of these groups, you must meet certain requirements. Thus, the retirees who will have access to the check on September 3rd are only those in group 1, as we have already mentioned. And to be part of group 1 it is only necessary to meet one requirement.
In the case of having applied for a retirement benefit since before May 1997, we will be able to belong to this group. There are no other requirements, so the only surprise is that you are obliged to belong to this Social Security group. If your benefit is after May 1997, your check will still arrive in September, but a few days later.
All September Social Security payments
Now that you know whether or not you are eligible for the September 3rd payment, all that remains is to find out what the other payment days are for the month. Remember that each retiree has his or her payday, as well as his or her maximum amount. Therefore, each U.S. citizen has his or her own conditions.
Within the month of September we find all these Social Security payments:
- September 3rd. Social Security payment for pre-May 1997 retirees.
- September 11th. Social Security payment for retirees after May 1997. It is also necessary to have a birthday between the 1st and 10th of the month.
- September 18th. Social Security payment for retirees after May 1997. Birthdays between the 11th and 20th of the month are also required.
- September 25th. Social Security payment for retirees after May 1997. It is also necessary to have a birthday between the 21st and 31st of the month.
Remember, a retiree can only get one of these checks during the month. It is possible to get an extra check from Social Security, but that would be the Supplemental Security Income payment. After the September 25 payment we will have to wait until October to get the benefit again.
