Social Security Administration announces Supplemental Security Income requirements for next October

Americans who want to get new Supplemental Security Income check in October will need to meet certain requirements set by Social Security

Find out if you could apply for a Supplemental Security Income check

Like all other Social Security benefits, the Supplemental Security Income check has some requirements that we must meet if we want to get this payment from the United States Administration. So it is a good idea to check the list of eligibility criteria to see if we are entitled to the benefit.

Still, even if we are eligible for this benefit we might not get too big a check. This all depends on other different elements. While it is true that the amount of Supplemental Security Income depends on the beneficiary’s income, this can change from month to month.

There are two main eligibility criteria and requirements to obtain this benefit. If we meet these requirements, we will receive a check in our pocket every month, starting in October.

If we do not meet these requirements for Supplemental Security Income, we may be eligible for some other Social Security benefit. Remember that you can check all available benefits through The Best Tool.

OCTOBER SUPPLEMENTAL SECURITY INCOME REQUIREMENTS

As with every month, there are two main criteria for getting Supplemental Security Income. By meeting these criteria we will get every month this benefit designed for those most in need.

If you meet the requirements you will get a 2nd Supplemental Security Income
If you meet the requirements you will get a 2nd Supplemental Security Income

These are the two requirements:

  1. Be 65 years of age or older or have a disability.
  2. Low monhtly income and low economic resources.

There is no other mandatory requirement for the Social Security Administration to send us a Supplemental Security Income check every month. As for the amount, the check depends on the beneficiary’s own income.

Thus, a citizen with a lower income may get a larger check. The maximum amount for SSI in 2023 is $914, but there is no minimum check.

WHEN DOES THE NEXT SOCIAL SECURITY SSI ARRIVE?

The next of the Supplemental Security Income payments falls on the October calendar. However, the payment arrives a little earlier. To be exact, the money will arrive on September 29th for those citizens who have Direct Deposit activated.

If we do not have this collection method activated, we will get the money a few days later than usual. However, there is nothing to worry about in terms of receiving the money. If the check clears, we will be able to get the money either earlier or later.

Also, the usual day for sending these checks is the 1st of each month. This is not the case in the months in which the first day is a holiday or weekend. In that situation payment is always sent on the immediately preceding business day. This is the case in October.
