Disability Benefits: These beneficiaries will not have to wait any longer to get their September benefits

You will not get your new Social Security payment if you do not meet these requirements

Which State will no longer send SNAP Food Stamps?

Next June, Supplemental Security Income recipients will receive two payments. But what’s the reason? The Social Security Administration is in charge of distributing the checks each month. However, not all Social Security recipients receive the money on the same day. While this may seem confusing, it is simply a matter of organization.

The Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program distributes help each month to adults and children with disabilities or blindness. In addition, these are people whose income is limited. Therefore, this help responds to an economic need of this sector. SSI is also granted to people 65 years of age or older without incapacities who meet the financial requirements.

For this reason, according to the SSA, the Supplemental Security Income applicant must have limited income and few resources. But where is the limit? In terms of earned income, self-employment wages on an individual basis must be less than $1,913 per month. However, if computed as a couple, this limit is $2,827.

Resources must also be limited. In this case, we are referring to the things that the applicant for the help possesses. In this sense, to access SSI an individual cannot exceed $2,000. Similarly, if you are a couple, the amount cannot exceed $3,000.

Social Security payment schedule

The Social Security Administration is responsible for issuing the checks each month. For this reason, it has established a calendar in which it differentiates the days on which it is each beneficiary’s turn to be paid. In other words, not everyone receives the money on the same day. The reason? Simply for organizational reasons. However, each person knows his or her payment day, so they can manage their family finances perfectly.

In keeping with this planning, the first to be paid are the Supplemental Security Income beneficiaries. They receive their money on the 1st of each month. After them, people who have been receiving this help since before 1997 receive their pensions on the 3rd. It should be noted that if in any of the above cases the established day falls on a weekend, the payment will be made on the last working day of the month.

As for the rest of the beneficiaries, they receive payment based on their day of birth. Therefore, those born between the 1st and 10th receive their check on the second Wednesday of the month. Those born between the 11th and 21st receive their checks on the third Wednesday of the month. Finally, those born between the 21st and 31st receive their money on the fourth Wednesday of the month.

Double Supplemental Security Income in June

In June, SSI recipients will receive two payments. We are not talking about double payments. It is a relatively common situation where they will receive their monthly payment twice in the same month. In fact, the reason is purely coincidental. For this circumstance occurs based on how the calendar fits.

As mentioned above, recipients of additional collateral income are scheduled to be paid on the first day of each month. However, when the payment day falls on a weekend or holiday, the SSA expects the payment to be delayed until the last business day. Therefore, the last working day of the 1st will always fall on the day of the previous month.

This is the case in July. July 1 falls on a Saturday, so the SSI payment is brought forward to June 30. Thus, the beneficiaries of this help will receive a first payment on June 1, belonging to that month, and a second payment on June 30. On this occasion, this payment will be made in July.
