Even if a United States citizen has Supplemental Security Income accepted, it does not mean that the beneficiary will receive a check in the month of June. In order to receive the extra money within this month, it is mandatory to meet the established requirements. If the Supplemental Security Income recipient does not meet these requirements, he or she will not receive this check from Social Security for the month.
However, there is nothing to be alarmed about regarding this extra payment. Regardless of whether or not we meet the requirements, if we have Supplemental Security Income accepted, we will be able to receive it, albeit a little later. Still, it’s always good to receive any Social Security benefit checks early so you can enjoy them sooner.
Since Supplemental Security Income payments always arrive on the 1st of the month, that is usually the day you will receive it. However, if there is an irregularity in the schedule, the payment may arrive earlier. But not for all the beneficiaries of this benefit, as we have said before, but for a specific group that meets these conditions.
Who can receive Supplemental Security Income early?
The next Supplemental Security Income payment will arrive early. To be exact, the Social Security Administration will send this check on June 30th, 2023. This is due to a slight irregularity in the timing of the payments. However, even though the Administration sends these checks on that exact day not all citizens are able to receive it.
In order to have the check on that exact day we must meet two requirements:
- To have the Supplemental Security Income previously accepted. It cannot be in the process of acceptance or have been accepted in this same month.
- Activate Direct Deposit. With this collection method, the checks arrive immediately and instantaneously. No citizen will have to wait even a minute to have the benefit money available.
In addition to that, it is also good to keep in mind that any other Social Security payment arrives immediately with this collection method. While it is true that we can receive all payments through the classic bank account deposit, this other method is faster.
Although it is not mandatory to receive Supplemental Security Income, activating Direct Deposit is highly recommended. And remember that this month is an exception. That does not imply that at the end of the year we will have an extra payment.
For SSI recipients to receive two payments of this check in June means that in July they will receive none. So in order not to result in a financial disaster we must control the money we have for the two months. After that, we will have to wait until August to receive a Supplemental Security Income check again.
