Because of this, the United States and state governments have to take action to alleviate the situation. And that is why the so-called stimulus checks came into existence.
By sending these stimulus checks, the American government can achieve a better standard of living for Americans with a lower purchasing power. This group includes all kinds of citizens, pensioners and non-pensioners. And the fact is that the stimulus checks reach all kinds of households regardless of the type of life that each citizen has.
Now we come across a new stimulus check that will grant even more than $1,900 in total if both are received. This payment is divided into two different checks and are fully compatible, as well as with Social Security and other kinds of benefits. The particular state that will be sending these payments is Montana.
Which stimulus checks will the State of Montana send?
In total, the State of Montana will send two different stimulus checks. The total amount between these two checks ranges from $600 to over $1,900. That said, in order to get more than $1,900 citizens have to meet the requirements of the two stimulus checks and get the maximum payment from both of them.
On the one hand we have the Montana income tax rebate. On the other hand, we have a stimulus check related to the property tax rebate. These checks are separate, but they are also combinable. Therefore, we can receive both of them without any problem.
Income Tax Refund
If we want to get one of these stimulus checks we have to meet only one requirement: to have paid state taxes in 2020 and 2021. This must have been before the deadline, as usual.
It’s that simple. For people who live in Montana and have paid their taxes on time there will be a stimulus check. Also, you don’t need to do anything to receive it, as they will be sent automatically. In addition to that, it should also be noted that if a citizen paid in taxes less than $1,250, the maximum check in these cases, they will receive 100% of the taxes paid.
The stimulus checks will start arriving as of July of this year 2023. If nothing changes in the schedule, all payments will arrive by December 31 of this year.
Property tax stimulus check
The second of these checks is about Montana’s property tax. The maximum payment in this case is $675. Citizens who paid in 2022 and 2023 their homestead taxes will be eligible for this rebate.
However, several requirements must be met. Among them, it is mandatory to have the main residence in Montana. This means that the citizen has to live at least seven months a year in this State.
In order to determine whether we can receive this stimulus check we have to look at how much tax we have paid. If the amount is less than $675, we are eligible to receive it.
In order to apply for this stimulus check it is mandatory to access the Montana TransAction Portal. It is also possible to submit the form on paper, although it will slow down the process. Beginning August 15, you will be able to submit the application. The deadline will be October 1, 2023.
