In 2020, the United States Federal Government launched a help program known as stimulus checks. As a result of the healthcare crisis, the country’s economy, and therefore that of its citizens, was also affected. Thus, it began with a round of help that has been maintained over the years.
Specifically, stimulus checks are a financial help that citizens receive to alleviate their financial situation. At first, it was the federal state that planned these checks. So much so, that beneficiaries have so far received three rounds of this payment.
The first of these rounds was the one approved by the CARES Act in 2020. The amount of this first check was $1,200. In a second payment came by way of the Attorney Relief Act also in 2020. In this case the check was for $600. The third payment was approved in 2021 and was known as the American Bailout Plan. The corresponding payment was $1,400.
STATES THAT WILL BE ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE A NEW STIMULUS CHECK
This was the last payment from the federal government. This does not mean that this is the end of the payments of these checks. State governments have decided over the years to keep some stimulus checks that they periodically distribute to their citizens. An example of this are these 3 states that have decided to send up to $3,284.
MONTANA
Montana citizens have until next October 1 to apply for a tax refund of up to $675 per person. But what does the maximum amount to be refunded depend on? The amount of the refund depends on the amount each person paid for their residence.
ALASKA
If you are within the so-called ‘eligible – unpaid’ the 2022 Alaska Permanent Fund Dividend can grant you up to $3,284 on September 14.
To fall within this quota, you must reside in Alaska and show intent to remain a resident of the state indefinitely. In addition, you must not have a criminal record and must not have claimed residency in another state.
MINNESOTA
Minnesota citizens can still receive tax refunds from tax year 2021 forward. The amount of these refunds can be up to $1,300 per family. However, the exact amount of this refund depends on each individual’s attorney’s tax situation.
In this regard, married couples filing a joint return will receive a refund of $520 if they earn a gross income of $150,000 or less. Individuals earning $75,000 or less will receive refunds of $260.
In addition to the corresponding refund amount, each taxpayer may claim for up to three dependents an additional $260. Ultimately, the maximum amount a family can receive from the 2021 tax refund program is $1,300.
