As of today there are no stimulus checks from the federal government, but the state government is sending checks for its citizens. Receiving one of these checks means having a little extra money during the month. At the end of the day, the ultimate goal of these checks is for citizens to have a better standard of living.
For two months the citizens of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts will be able to apply for one of these stimulus checks. This will bring relief at all levels for eligible citizens to get an extra benefit on a monthly basis. So pay attention if you think you may be eligible to receive one of these checks.
Who can receive this stimulus check?
The program granting this new stimulus check in the state of Massachusetts is the Rise Up Cambridge. In order to apply for this payment you will need to meet certain requirements. These are the conditions for eligibility for the check:
- Be a resident of Cambridge.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Have a household member at least 21 years of age.
- Have household income at or below 250% of the federal poverty level.
These are the general requirements to be able to apply for this new check that will start reaching pockets very soon. The deadline to apply for this payment will be July 31. After that date, no one will be able to apply for this new benefit.
The monthly payment for this stimulus check will be $500 for 18 months. This means that eligible citizens will have this benefit for a year and a half. In total, the final amount of this stimulus check will be $9,000 for each beneficiary.
