Beneficiaries in the United States who have an SSDI check now know the exact day on which they will receive the last of the March payments. At least they can now know on what day the Social Security Administration will send these checks to eligible users. Receiving them on the same day will depend on the collection method we have chosen.
So today is the last day the Administration sends out SSDI checks for the month of March. With today’s mailing, that’s 3 Social Security payments going to U.S. households this month. While this is true, it should also be noted that each of these checks is for a different group of beneficiaries.
Therefore, a single pensioner cannot cash three of these checks, but only one each month. The day on which a pensioner receives his SSDI payment will depend on his birthday. Each month, this rule is repeated in order to be able to know on which day the disabled user might receive his new check from the Administration.
The group we are talking about now is the last to receive their payment each month. This is no disadvantage at all, since all we need is organization in the financial field so that getting paid on one day or another is totally indifferent.
Who receives their SSDI benefit today?
As we have previously announced, the beneficiaries who receive their SSDI benefit today are those born between the 21st and 31st of the month. It does not matter the month of birth. A retiree with a birthday in April receives his payment for March as well as for the rest of the months of the year.
The important fact for receiving payment on one day of the week or another is the exact day of birth within the month. In this sense, beneficiaries born in January can receive the rest of the checks for the year. The same is true for pensioners in March, September or July.
As for the reason for retirement it should also be noted that it does not matter. An SSDI retiree will collect on the same day as an age pensioner. This is the case if they share the same birthday.
When will I receive my new Social Security payment?
Today is the day the Administration will send the Social Security payment to users with disabilities and all other beneficiaries. Millions of them will be able to enjoy the money today, but that is not the case for 100% of pensioners. In order to receive the check quickly and automatically, beneficiaries must have Direct Deposit activated.
This will ensure that we know the day on which we will receive the payment. This is it because it will be the same exact day on which the Administration will send the money. But there is not only this payment method, since we can also cash the check through a bank account transfer.
If we choose this second payment method, we should know that the money could take up to 3 days to reach our pocket. For this reason, if we want to have the money sooner we should activate Direct Deposit and forget about the problems of delays.
What is the maximum SSDI amount?
Both Social Security Age Retirement beneficiaries and SSDI users have a cap on the amount of the checks. This cap is different for the two types. If an age-based retiree can get up to $4,555 per month in 2023, a user with a disability can reach $3,627 per month.
As for the Social Security check for age retirement, the citizen can increase it depending on his or her working history. In the SSDI field, this is more complicated and in most cases depends on other different factors.
Even so, we must keep in mind that every year this amount can increase through COLA. In this year 2023 pensions increased by 8.7%, a historical record. It is still too early to tell how much SSDI checks will increase in 2024. The amount may well not rise that much, though.
