SSDI beneficiaries in the United States can receive a new pension check in just a week and a few days. However, not all beneficiaries in this group can have this check in their pockets, as there is a specific requirement that must be met. Even so, it should be noted that if we do not meet this requirement we will still receive a check with this month’s SSDI pension.

If we do not receive the pension this week, we will receive it in one of the following weeks. Therefore, SSDI beneficiaries can rest assured that they will receive their monthly payment. It is just a matter of organization, since the Social Security Administration does not send checks to all retirees on the same day.

In order to have the payment in your pocket on payday, another requirement must also be met. In this regard, the method of collection is essential to receive the check as soon as possible. To all this we have to add that the amount will not change from last month. There will be no increases for the time being until COLA raises SSDI benefits again.

Who will receive the next SSDI payment?

The next SSDI payment will only be for retirees born between the 1st and 10th of the month. So if your birthday falls between those days, you will be able to enjoy the benefit in just one week. The exact day that retirees on this benefit will receive a check is on the 12th of April.

For retirees who were not born between these days, the payment will be in the following weeks. Having a birthday between the 11th and 20th of the month means receiving a check on the 19th of April. Finally, the April 26th payment will be for retirees born between the 21st and 31st of the month.

Can I receive the April 12th payment if my Social Security is age-based?

Of course, age-based retirees are eligible to receive a check on April 12. This check is for all types of retirees. The reason for retirement is not an element to be taken into account to determine the day of collection of this payment. So there is nothing to worry about if our benefit is not SSDI.

The only requirement to belong to a group of beneficiaries is the day of the birthday. So if you were born between the 1st and 10th you will receive the next check. If not, you will receive it in the following weeks.

No SSI payment for SSDI recipients in April?

The Supplemental Security Income benefit is a bit special in terms of timing. Unlike age retirement benefits or SSDI, SSI is not sent on different days. On the 1st of each day, the Social Security Administration pays the checks for this benefit to your beneficiaries.

But there is one exception to this. If the 1st of the month is a weekend or holiday, Social Security pays this check on the immediately preceding business day. And that is what happens in the month of April.

Since April 1st is a weekend, SSDI recipients who have SSI can receive payment on the 31st of March. This does not make the check not belong in April, as it is part of the calendar. The only difference is that it is brought forward, but the payment remains the same.

Next Supplemental Security Income check, after the double payment of March, will be on May 1st. Remember to have Direct Deposit in order to get it immediately in that day.
