Being able to access one of the Social Security payments is a financial relief for millions of United States citizens. In addition, being able to have a monthly check from Supplemental Security Income ensures a minimum income for the most needy citizens. In the United States, the retirement check may not be enough, which is why there are other financial helps of this kind.
Regardless of whether we have a Social Security retirement check or not, we are eligible to receive the monthly Supplemental Security Income. This is important to know, as many Americans who are eligible for this payment do not apply for it because they do not know they are eligible. So it is vitally important to keep in mind the eligibility requirements.
If we are eligible for this benefit, we can apply for it and receive a check of up to $914 every month. This is the maximum amount of Supplemental Security Income, but it is not the average amount. In addition, there is no minimum SSI check, as any financial help of this kind is welcome, no matter how small it may seem.
What are the eligibility requirements for Supplemental Security Income?
The Social Security Administration itself has announced what the eligibility requirements are within the Supplemental Security Income benefits. There are mainly two conditions that must be met in order to be eligible for one of these benefits.

On the one hand, we have the economic condition and on the other hand the physical condition or age. It is mandatory to meet both requirements. Otherwise, we would not be able to obtain the monthly SSI check. These are the requirements:
- Be 65 years old or older or have a disability or blindness.
- Have low income.
With regard to the first requirement, it is not necessary to have Social Security in order to apply for a Supplemental Security Income check. It is only necessary to be 65 years of age or older or have a disability or be blind.
On the other hand, depending on the economic resources we will be able to access or not to this check. It is important to be able to justify this, otherwise we will not be able to apply for the monthly check.
In order to determine if it is possible to request payment of this check from the Supplemental Security Income, we can use Best Tool. With this free application we can find out in a few minutes if we meet all the requirements.
When do Social Security SSI checks arrive?
The payment date for these benefits is always the 1st of each month. However, there may be exceptions that completely change the day Supplemental Security Income is mailed.
When the 1st of the month falls on a weekend or holiday, the check is mailed on the immediately preceding business day. This means that in some months we do not get an SSI benefit and in other months we get two checks.
However, remember that this does not mean that you will get double payment. In other words, if you get two Supplemental Security Income checks in one month, you will not get double the amount between that month and the next. The final amount between the two months is the same, with no extra money.
