The Social Security Administration‘s payment schedule is determined from personal information about each retiree in the United States. This means that in order to know on what day we will receive our monthly benefit, we have to know our own personal information. There is no trick to this, and the timing of payments is quite clear for beneficiaries who receive their benefits every month.
In just a few days the Social Security Administration will send out what will be the last of the checks for the month of June. This last check will not be for all retirees, since only a group of them will be able to enjoy this money. Even so, the fact that it is the last check means that the rest of the retirees have received the money in advance.
Also, not all retirees who are in the last group to receive the check will get the money exactly on that day. In order to receive the payment on the same day that the Social Security Administration sends the payment, it is mandatory to have an option activated. If we do not have this option activated, it is possible that our check will not only not arrive on the same day, but will appear in July. This would cause us to collect our Social Security check in the following month.
Who can receive the last Social Security check for June?
Retirees who have a benefit can receive the last check for June if:
- They have a Social Security payment since after 1997.
- Their birthday is between the 21st and 31st of the month.
These two requirements are the only ones to take into account when we talk about determining the day of payment. In this regard, it does not matter what type of benefit the Social Security Administration sends us. In other words, it does not matter if the check is for disability, age retirement or for any other reason.
The important fact to know on which day we will get the check of the month is the birthday. And in order to receive this last payment it is mandatory to fulfill the conditions mentioned above.
Avoid delays in the payment of retirement benefits
We must be very careful when determining when we will receive the payment. If we check the calendar we will be able to find out on which day we will receive the Social Security for the month. Also, we will be able to find out if the last of the June checks is ours or not.
However, there is one more thing to keep in mind. That other thing is the method of collection. Retirees who do not have Direct Deposit activated will not be able to collect their Social Security payment immediately. This means that the payment will be delayed for a few days.
The usual in these cases is that it takes up to 3 days for the check to reach our pocket. But sometimes this can be a little slower. In the case that our bank is slower, it is possible that being in the last group of June the check will not arrive until the first days of July. That is why we should activate Direct Deposit to speed up the process.
