The timing of Social Security Disability payments in the United States depends on several factors. Knowing these factors will allow us to mark on the calendar the day of each month on which we can get one of these payments. While it is true that there may be irregularities, the fact is that it is usual to know in advance the day of the collection.
And in the next week, the Social Security Administration will send out the last of the Disability payments for the entire month of April. Who gets the last Disability payment for the month of April 2024?
Knowing the eligibility criteria for this new Social Security Disability check is really quite easy. There are really only two mandatory requirements to be part of the group that gets this new benefit next week.
To collect the check on April 24th, the last Social Security payment of the month, you must have a birthday between the 21st and 31st of any month. Likewise, it is also necessary to have the benefit since after May 1997.
If these two requirements are met, we will be within the eligibility criteria for the Social Security Administration to send us this new check for Disability on April 24th. Whether we receive it on the same payday or not will depend on whether we have activated Direct Deposit or if we get the money through a checking account deposit.
Upcoming Disability payments after April
Once the April Social Security payment schedule ends we will have to wait until May to get the benefit. Within the month of May we will have up to 6 different checks. But a retiree can only get 3 of those payments.
If we have a Supplemental Security Income check, we could get payment on the 1st and 31st of the month. Likewise, we could also collect a Disability benefit on the 3rd day of May if our check is prior to 1997.
On the other hand, the 8th, 15th and 22nd of May will be the Disability check payment days for post-May 1997 retirees. In order to get a check on one day or the other, it is necessary to have a birthday on a certain date.
