Social Security Disability Income: Here’s how to get two checks on Sept. 1st

Some Americans with a Social Security Disability Income will be able to get two checks from the Administration on September 1st

If you meet the requirements you will get two disability checks in September

Thousands of United States citizens with a Social Security Disability Income benefit may receive a double payment on September 1st. This double payment is due to a small irregularity in the calendar. The important thing in these cases is to verify that we meet all the requirements in order to know 100% if we will receive these two checks or not.

Not all Americans with a Social Security Disability Income can receive the September 1st double payment. Only a group of retirees who meet two requirements will be able to know if the Administration will send them a check on that day. Also, there is a third requirement to receive both checks on the same mailing day.

In total, there are three requirements that must be met if we want to get the benefit on those exact days. They are not difficult to meet and most Social Security Disability Income recipients already meet them without knowing it. Even so, check the conditions to see if you will have extra money and two checks on the same day on September 1st.

WHO GETS TWO SOCIAL SECURITY DISABILITY INCOME PAYMENTS ON SEPTEMBER 1ST?

To be eligible for these two payments, you must have two conditions in mind. The first one is to have accepted Supplemental Security Income. It is indispensable to receive these two checks, since one of them is actually this payment. Likewise, it is also mandatory to have the Social Security Disability Income benefit from before 1997.

Social Security Disability Income money will hit twice in September 1st

The reason these two requirements are mandatory is due to the Social Security schedule. Pension payments for pre-1997 pensioners are always due on the 3rd of each month. However, when that day is a non-working day, the payment is sent on the immediately preceding working day. In this case we are talking about September 1st.

And, coincidentally, September 1st is the day on which the Administration sends not only the Social Security Disability Income but also the Supplemental Security Income. And that is why we will have two payments on the exact same day.

Even so, in order to receive both checks on the same day it is necessary to activate Direct Deposit. Otherwise, it is not possible to receive the benefits on the 1st of September. In summary, these are the essential requirements:

  1. You must have received Social Security Disability Income before 1997.
  2. Have a Supplemental Security Income benefit.
  3. Activate Direct Deposit as a payment method.

If you meet all three requirements, you will automatically have two checks in your bank account at the beginning of next month. If you do not activate Direct Deposit, it may take up to 3 days for the money to appear. Since there is a weekend in between, it may take longer than usual for the Social Security Disability Income money to appear.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS TO RECEIVE TWO SOCIAL SECURITY DISABILITY INCOME PAYMENTS ON SEPTEMBER 1ST?

In order to receive two checks related to Social Security disability Income on September 1st, you must have Supplemental Security Income. If we have this accepted benefit and a check from Social Security we could receive two payments on the same day.

But there is an extra requirement. And that is that it is mandatory to have the retirement benefit from before 1997. In this case, we are talking about the Social Security check for both disability and old age retirement.

So if your benefit is pre-1997 and you have a Supplemental Security Income check, the Social Security Administration will send you two checks on September 1st. If you also have Direct Deposit activated, you will be able to collect your disability benefit immediately.
