With each new month that passes on the United States calendar, the Social Security Administration sends out a new Supplemental Security Income check. At the same time, new United States citizens apply for Supplemental Security Income checks to help pay their monthly expenses. Thanks to this check, millions of Americans have access to a more stable and better standard of living.
For this reason, every month the Administration announces the mandatory requirements for Supplemental Security Income as a monthly income. It is not enough to apply for a check, since it has very definite requirements that if we do not meet, we will never be able to get the payment. So if you are thinking that you could have this payment in your pocket you should check to see if you can apply for it.
Also, there are many citizens on the opposite side. That is, thousands of Americans do not know that they can apply for Supplemental Security Income from Social Security. This group of Americans who do not know they are entitled to this benefit should check to see if they qualify. Sometimes we don’t realize that we could be collecting a new benefit, so we need to check it out.
Supplemental Security Income eligibility in June 2023
The Social Security Administration is making available to all Americans what they need to apply for SSI beginning in June 2023. Here are the requirements:
- Be age 65 or older or have a disability.
- Have a low monthly income.
- Have low income.
We must meet each of the three requirements if we want to apply for this Supplemental Security Income check. If you do not meet all three requirements, you will not be able to get an extra Social Security payment each month. Even so, remember that many citizens are entitled to receive the check but do not apply for it. So if you are in a position to apply, do so to get up to $914 every month.
When will Social Security send the new SSI?
Every new month a new Supplemental Security Income check hits Americans’ pockets. The day the Social Security Administration sends it out depends on one factor. Typically, the 1st of the month is the day that recipients of this check receive their payment. However, this can vary somewhat.
When the 1st of the month is a holiday or weekend, the date of the Supplemental Security Income payment changes. Even so, there is nothing to worry about, as the payment is sent on the immediately preceding business day. This means that Supplemental Security Income recipients will receive checks earlier if there is an exception in the calendar.
During the month of June we encountered one of these different cases. Retirees who have this check from Supplemental Security Income will receive the July payment within the June days. To be exact, the Administration will send the payment of this benefit on June 30th. Those who have Direct Deposit activated will be able to enjoy two payments directly in the same month.
