In order to get this September 25th check, you must belong to a specific group of United States citizens. If we are not part of this group we will not be able to get the check.
Even so, it is true that since this is the last Social Security payment for the entire month of September, this means that the rest of the retirees should already have the payment in their checking account. If not, we may need to claim the benefit as soon as possible.
If we keep track of our Social Security check information, we will always know when we collect our payment each month. And on the 25th day of September, we may be able to access the check if we meet two specific requirements.
Payments on the 25th will include the 2024 COLA increase. Therefore, retired, disabled, widowed, or VA beneficiaries will receive a higher September 2023 payment.
Which beneficiaries get Social Security on September 25th?
In order to collect the Social Security payment on September 25th we will need to meet two requirements. One of these requirements is related to the year of retirement and the other is related to the beneficiary’s birthday.
To be more precise, the requirements to be able to get the September 25th Social Security payment are:
- Have a benefit since after May 1997.
- Have a birthday between the 21st and 31st of any month.
You do not have to have a birthday in September to get the September payment. So we do not have to worry about the month of the birthday, nor the year of birth. It is only important to keep in mind the exact day of the birthday and the year of retirement.
Claiming Social Security back payments
If our Social Security payment does not arrive on time, we need to claim it as soon as possible. To claim it we can do two different things. However, to go to the second of these tips you need to have done the first one.
- Contact the bank. The bank may withhold the benefit money, so we should contact them to make sure that this is not the case.
- Contact the Social Security Administration. If the bank does not help us solve our problem, the Administration will know what is happening with our benefit.
Remember to activate Direct Deposit to get payment as soon as possible, as well as to keep your personal information updated at all times to avoid delays in your Social Security benefit checks.
