The Social Security Administration does not only send out retirement and disability benefit payments. In addition to these checks, United States citizens can also receive a different payment from Social Security called Supplemental Security Income. In order to get this payment, several financial requirements must be met. This money help is for all those people with a low source of income, although there are more separate requirements.
Regardless of the requirements, the day on which Social Security will send the Supplementary Security Income must also be taken into account. Knowing the exact days is primarily used to organize your home finances. In this way, people with lower incomes can better control the money that goes into their bank account and that they spend on their liabilities.
Since the Social Security Administration announced payments for the whole year, good organization of household finances is much easier. If you’re getting SSI, you’ll want to know the full schedule. Best of all, there are months where SSA sends this payment twice, so we have to be careful to get all benefits.
Then, we must also remember that the collection method chosen influences the day on which we will collect this benefit. This is also true for other Social Security benefits.
Social Security Supplemental Security Income schedule for 2023
Supplemental Security Income payments from the Social Security Administration are usually due on the 1st of each month. Thus, the payment is not sent on different days depending on the date of the birthday, as is the case with age or disability retirement payments. However, some of these payments are not sent on the announced date due to an irregularity in the calendar.
When the 1st of the month is a holiday or weekend, SSA pays SSI on the immediately preceding business day. This is usually the 30th or 31st of the preceding month. For that reason, there are occasions when two SSI checks arrive in the same month.
