Each State in the United States has its own schedule for SNAP payments. This type of benefit is a help for the most needy. The purpose of this benefit is that all Americans can buy fresh food and thus have a good diet. In this sense, SNAP is a help for all kinds of Americans.
In Florida, the state government sends out SNAP checks (also called Food Stamps) on specific days of the month. However, due to the exceptional situation of Hurricane Idalia, the State will send out the checks as soon as possible for the month of September.
In fact, in many places in Florida the money has already been sent to its citizens. So check your EBT card carefully because it could be the case that you have already received the money ahead of time.
Even so, not all citizens will receive the payment in advance. Some of these citizens will get the payment until the 14th day of the month, as it is usual in Florida. What is certain is that if we have SNAP accepted we will receive the check in this month and we might get it a little earlier.
WHICH AMERICANS WILL BE ABLE TO RECEIVE THE SNAP EARLIER IN FLORIDA?
There is no exact list of Americans who will receive checks early. However, in most cases in Florida this will be the case. Receiving the money earlier is possible due to the exceptional situation with Hurricane Idalia.
In order to receive a SNAP check earlier than usual, we do not need to do anything. Likewise, we also cannot claim that the payment will arrive earlier than usual. The system has already chosen who will receive the payments early and everything depends on this unpleasant situation.
The checks, regardless of the amount, may arrive on the EBT card in the next few days. It does not matter if we have not received it yet, as they will arrive earlier in the month of September for eligible Floridians.
