The December Social Security payment schedule has already begun for United States retirees. This means that millions of new retirement checks are arriving right now to their beneficiaries. Getting one of these payments today could be possible.
However, not all beneficiaries may get this payment today, as the Social Security Administration follows a schedule and it was only yesterday that it started sending out the payments. Therefore, many residents already have the payments, which is good news for them.
If we meet the requirements we will be able to get these payments in the next few days. But if we fulfill another extra requirement we could get the payment since yesterday and today we would have it in our bank account.
It is important to always keep in mind that all Social Security payments have a date marked on the calendar. Therefore, it is not possible to collect one of these payments if it is not part of the calendar. So pay attention to the payment days.
WHO CAN GET A SOCIAL SECURITY PAYMENT TODAY?
In order to get the Social Security payment today the first thing to keep in mind is that we have to belong to the first of the retiree groups. So if you belong to group 1 of retirement beneficiaries you will be able to enjoy this check.
These are the mandatory requirements to collect the benefit:
- Belonging to group 1 of retirees. This group is formed by beneficiaries with a check from before 1997. Any beneficiary after that year will cash the checks in subsequent weeks.
- Not have activated Direct Deposit. If we have activated this option, the check will arrive on the same day it is sent, that is, on the 1st of December. If we have not activated it, the money may arrive today or next Monday.
In any case, if we have activated Direct Deposit it could also be possible that we will get the Social Security today. It all depends on the bank and some irregularities, but the best thing to do in these cases is to check our bank account to see if we have gotten the money.
HOW TO GET ANOTHER SSA PAYMENT TODAY?
In addition to the retirement benefit payment for pre-1997 recipients, Supplemental Security Income recipients may get their benefit payment on the same day. This is especially true if they have activated Direct Deposit.
Those who have not activated Direct Deposit will not be able to receive the benefit immediately, but will still get it in the next few days. Remember that the maximum check for this Supplemental Security Income is $914.
Most notably, SSI recipients may also get an extra payment from Social Security at the end of the month. Another Supplemental Security Income payment will arrive on the 29th, but this time the payment will be up to $943 for the 2024 COLA.
