When does the remaining Social Security arrive in April 2024?
There are two Social Security payments coming in the next few weeks of April. In order to collect these benefits we are required to be part of retiree groups 3 and 4. Each of these groups will get their money on different days.
Group 3 will collect their retirement check on April 17th. Group 4 will be able to have their benefit available on the 24th of the same month. Just by knowing the requirements we will be able to mark on the calendar on which day we will have the money available.
Group 3 retirees are those who have had a Social Security check since after 1997 and a birthday between the 11th and 20th of any month. On the other hand, to be part of group 4 it is necessary to have a birthday between the 21st and 31st of the month. It is also mandatory to have the benefit since after May 1997.
How much do the April Social Security checks increase?
April retirement payments will be the same amount as in the previous 2024 months. But there is an increase over the previous year’s 2023 checks. Specifically, we will get 3.2% more money than last year.
Thus, a Social Security retiree who collected a $1,000 check in the previous year can collect a $1,032 benefit in April 2024. For every $100, we will get $3.2 more, so it is easy to know what the final amount is.
This increase in benefits is not just for age-based retirees. Any Social Security check, including the Disability payment and other benefits such as Supplemental Security Income, have such increases every year.
