United States citizens who receive a Social Security benefit each month should know the monthly schedule of payments. Knowing on what day Social Security pays checks to age or disability retirees makes it easier to organize a family’s expenses. Fortunately, the Social Security Administration’s payment schedule always follows the same pattern.
By knowing this monthly schedule, we will be able to know the exact day on which we will be entitled to the Social Security retirement benefit. With this, a good family organization is possible and, therefore, a better economic stability and a greater social welfare. Having this type of benefit on a monthly basis ensures a much higher quality of life for millions of Americans.
However, not all age-based retirees will receive the next Social Security payment. Only one group of retirees will be able to have the new check in their pockets soon. If you are not on the list of these retirees, you should not worry, because in May the beneficiaries will receive their benefits again. So, those who do not receive the check today will receive it very soon.
Only these retirees receive the new Social Security check
With each new month, the Social Security Administration sends new checks to beneficiaries. Determining whether or not we will receive the next check depends on several factors. The first is the date of retirement and the second is the date of the birthday. Therefore, in order to receive the next of the age retirement checks, it is mandatory to meet these requirements:
- To have been born between the 21st and 31st of the month.
- To have a Social Security retirement after 1997.
Once these two requirements are met, there is nothing else to do but wait to receive the next check from the Administration. After that payment, the May calendar starts for retirees to receive another new benefit. In addition, the month of May has Supplemental Security Income, something that due to calendar irregularities did not occur in this month of April.
When will the next pension payments arrive?
In just one week a new calendar month begins, which means that retirees may have a new benefit. This May calendar includes up to 5 check mailings from Social Security. Pension payout days will depend on individual situations and eligibility.
The first of these payments will be next May 1st. On that day, Supplemental Security Income recipients will be able to receive a check for up to $914. There are no birthday distinctions here, so all users of this benefit will receive it on the same day.
On the other hand, we have the payments to retirees for disability, age and the rest of Social Security users. In order to know the day on which we will collect this benefit we have to check two elements. There are two different groups within this benefit. The first group will receive the benefit on May 3rd and will be citizens with a pension who retired before 1997.
On the other hand, the second, third and fourth Wednesdays of May will be the days on which retirees who retired after 1997 will be paid. These days are the 10th, 17th and 24th of May. On each day a different group will collect Social Security. The first of these groups consists of retirees born between the 1st and 10th. The second group is for beneficiaries born between the 11th and 20th. Finally, the third group is for retirees with birthdays between the 21st and 31st.
