The schedule of May 2024 Social Security payments is now available to all beneficiaries. This means that Americans with an accepted benefit can find out on what day of the month they will get a new payment. However, those same retirees could get an extra check.

Which group of retirees gets two Social Security payments next week?
In order to qualify for this double Social Security payment we must meet two requirements. If we do not meet them, we will not have access to these two checks. We may get one of the two checks. Likewise, we could also get two checks during the month of May, but only have one of the two checks next week.
The requirements to get these two checks in the next week are:
- Have Supplemental Security Income accepted.
- You must have applied for Social Security retirement before May 1997.
If we belong to both groups, we will have access to the two Social Security payments. If not, we may be able to collect on some of the other days in May 2024.
When do the next Social Security payments arrive in May?
These two payments will arrive on the 1st and 3rd of the month. Mind you, each of these payment days are for a particular check from the Social Security Administration. On the one hand, the 1st payment is only for Supplemental Security Income recipients.
