Throughout each new month the Social Security Administration sends out both a new Supplemental Security Income check and other United States benefits. Recipients who receive these checks can find out the day the Administration will send them out just by glancing at the calendar. However, not all Americans are able to receive all of the checks.
In order to receive Supplemental Security Income, several requirements must be met. In addition to that, if we want to get a second check of this benefit within the days of June we must meet an extra requirement. This does not mean that we will get more money from Supplemental Security Income, but rather that we will receive a payment in advance.
With that in mind, Supplemental Security Income recipients should know that choosing the collection method is really critical to getting checks on time. And that is the main condition for getting the second SSI payment within the days of June 2023. Will you receive the extra SSI check in June?
How do I get a second Supplemental Security Income check in June?
In order to receive this second check, there is a collection method requirement. Remember that the Administration sends out these Supplemental Security Income checks on the 1st of each month, unless there are exceptions. July will be an exception. This is because July 1st will be a weekend.
Therefore, Social Security will pay the SSI check on the immediately preceding business day. What does this mean? The Administration will pay the July SSI check on the last day of June. So for beneficiaries who have Direct Deposit as their payment method, the payment will arrive immediately.
That is the only way United States citizens can receive two Supplemental Security Income checks in the same month. However, remember that the payment is actually the July payment in advance.
Other Social Security payments in July 2023
These two Supplemental Security Income checks are not the only ones the Social Security Administration will send out in June. In addition to these checks, Americans will be able to receive regular retirement checks.
Since we have two SSI checks during the days of June, some citizens will enjoy up to 3 separate checks. In addition to the two SSI checks, there is an age or disability retirement check.
The days on which the Social Security Administration will send out retirement checks are 4 different days. June 2nd was for beneficiaries who retired before 1997. After that, the rest of the checks will arrive on June 14th, June 21st, and June 28th. Each of these days is for a different group of retirees.
As with Supplemental Security Income, Direct Deposit is the fastest method of collecting retirement payment. So if you want to receive any of the checks paid by the Social Security Administration without having to wait, you should activate this collection method.
