The timing of October payments from the United States Social Security is a bit irregular with respect to other months. This means that some of the beneficiaries of these benefits may have some problems when it comes to organizing the economy at home.
Still, we must take into account all the income that comes into our pocket. And if in October there is one payment less we must be consistent and organize our accounts in the best possible way. Otherwise we could have money-related complications.
Regardless of whether or not we have already gotten our October Social Security check, the payment that will never arrive within this month is very important to millions of American families. So not getting the payment can make a big difference.
We are talking about the Supplemental Security Income check, and that is because of an irregularity in the calendar the Social Security Administration has not sent this check in these days of October. This has caused a large number of beneficiaries to get one less payment in October.
WHY DIDN’T I GET ALL MY SOCIAL SECURITY PAYMENTS IN OCTOBER?
If you are accepted for Social Security and Supplemental Security Income, it is common to get two different checks in the same month. However, this is not the situation in the month of October, as there is one payment less, the SSI payment.
This unsent October SSI payment has forced many families to go without the extra payment for more days. While it is true that the Administration sent the payment in advance, the days between the October and November SSI check are longer than usual. Therefore, the economic organization must be different.
The payment of this benefit was sent last September 29th. This is because October 1st was a weekend. When this occurs, the Social Security Administration sends out SSI checks on the immediately preceding business day. For that reason the payment has arrived earlier and has forced many families to arrange their money differently.
OTHER SSA PAYMENTS IN OCTOBER
Still, the other Social Security payments in October do not change on any of the days. So if we follow the usual schedule we find ourselves with four different days of payments. Retirees get their money on each of these days depending on whether they meet certain requirements.
These are the October payment days:
- October 3rd.
- October 11th.
- October 18th.
- October 25th.
Remember to check well the requirements for each of these days to determine if the check belongs to us or not. You should also keep in mind that these are the days when the Social Security Administration sends the payment. So activate Direct Deposit if you want to collect the payment on the same day the Administration sends it.
