Monthly Social Security payment schedules depend on the general calendar for the month. This means that some United States retirees may get a check earlier or later. Everything depends directly on these days, which is why it is so important to be familiar with the payment schedule. Only in this way will we be able to effectively target the day of the monthly collection.
In total, the Social Security Administration will pay up to 4 retirement checks during the month of August. To that we must add an extra Supplemental Security Income check, which is in addition to the August check. In short, throughout August the SSA will pay 6 different checks to United States citizens, although it is true that not everyone may get all the checks.
Why are there no Social Security payments in the coming week?
The reason for no Social Security payments in the second week of August is very simple. Considering that the first of the retirement payments has been sent on the 2nd day, since the 3rd day is Saturday, the second week starts on the 5th day. Thus, the next payment would be on the second Wednesday of the month, but it does not arrive until the third week.
For this reason, there are no Social Security checks for retirement, disability or other reasons during the entire second week of August. The only Americans who could get a check on this day are those who belong to group 1 retirees and do not have Direct Deposit activated. Only then is it possible to get this benefit in the second week of August.
Therefore, we have to wait a little longer to be able to get the new one of the checks. Still, there is nothing to worry about, since Social Security payments will reach all American households without any problems, as the Administration will send the checks as usual.
Full schedule of Social Security payments in August
On any of the paydays we can get a Social Security check. We will just need to look at the requirements. Let’s take a look at the complete August SSA payment schedule:
- August 1. Supplemental Social Security payment.
- August 2. Retirement check payment for pre-May 1997 beneficiaries.
- August 14. Retirees with benefits after May 1997 who have a birthday between 1 and 10 years old collect on this day.
- August 21. Retirees with a post-May 1997 benefit who have a birthday between the 11th and 20th are paid on this day.
- August 28. Retirees with a benefit after May 1997 who have a birthday between the 21st and the 31st collect on this day.
- August 30. September Supplemental Social Security payment. The payment is early because September 1 is a weekend.
With this in mind we can be clearer about when we will have the benefit money available. Remember that the method of collection is key and that the type of retirement is not important to get a check on one day of the month or another.
