Getting a new Social Security Disability check every month in the United States is easy, but we can’t always get the checks sent by the Administration. Each retiree is within a group of beneficiaries and each of these groups has its own regular collection day. Thus, a retiree who is within a specific group can only collect his or her benefit at a specific time.
In total there are four groups of Social Security beneficiaries. Each of these groups has different retirees regardless of whether they are retirees due to Disability, age or other reasons. But what determines whether we belong to one group of retirees or another is both the year of retirement and the day of birth. For that reason, pre-May 1997 retirees cannot get a new payment in the next few days of September.
Why are there no more Disability payments for Group 1 in September?
Group 1 retirees always receive their collections on the 3rd day of the month, unless there are exceptions. In the case that there are exceptions we find that the payment arrives even earlier. In September there are no exceptions, so the Social Security Administration sent the money for this group to the beneficiaries on the 3rd day of the month.
There is only one requirement to belong to this group. This requirement is to have a retirement check from before May 1997. It does not matter if the check is for Disability or for another reason. The important thing is to have a payment since after that date. The date of the birthday also does not matter in determining the day of collection in this case.
Since group 1 only collects on that particular day for that reason they will not get a different check. In order to get the next payment we have to wait until next month, so the rest of the September checks will be for beneficiaries in groups 2, 3 and 4.
