More payments for Disability and retirees

The new round of United States Social Security payments is about to hit the pockets of United States citizens. If we have a retirement benefit and have not yet gotten a check, it is possible that in the next few hours we will have access to it.

In any case, it is certain that we still have another check before the end of the month, plus Social Security will send an extra check on the 31st of January. Therefore, even if we do not get the payment on the 15th of January we can still get a payment on the 22nd or 31st of the month. It may be the case that we get both checks.

Who gets the new round of Social Security checks?

As we have anticipated, the Social Security payment for this new round will be mailed on the 15th of January. This means that the next Wednesday of the month will be payday for many retirees. So be sure to check to see if you are eligible to mark this day of the month on your calendar.

Citizens who will get this new Social Security check are those who:

  1. Have a birthday between the 10th and 20th of any month. The year of birth does not matter, nor does the month.
  2. Have a benefit after May 1997.

This is the only way we can access this payment. Although it is also true that those beneficiaries who want to get the payment as soon as possible because they have financial urgencies must activate the Direct Deposit collection method. If they do not activate it, the payment will not arrive directly, but they will have to wait a few days until they have it in their current account.

What are the maximum Social Security payments in 2025?

Social Security checks in 2025 may reach numbers never seen before. The final amount depends on many factors, but depending on which category you fall into, you may get one maximum check or another.

Thus, the maximum Social Security checks, depending on the category, are as follows in 2025:

  • Disability: $4,018 per month.
  • Full retirement (age 67): $4,018 per month.
  • Late retirement (age 70): $5,180 per month.

The check for each beneficiary is totally different and depends directly on your work history. Thus, depending on your work history, you can get more or less money from retirement.
