Now that Donald Trump has returned to the presidency of the United States citizens are wondering what will happen to the timing of Social Security payments, as it is one of the most important items for retirees who rely solely on their retirement benefit.
A priori, the change in presidency should not affect Social Security retirement payments, so it doesn’t matter which president is in charge in the White House. Therefore, if we have a previously accepted Social Security payment we will be able to follow the usual scheme to get the benefit.

When do Social Security payments arrive with Donald Trump?
Social Security payments follow the same schedule they have followed so far. So, if we have the 2025 payment schedule in mind, we can know exactly when they will arrive in the coming months.
Remember that Social Security payments are sent as follows:
- Retirees prior to May 1997. On the 3rd of each month.
- Retirees after May 1997. Depending on the retiree’s birthday, the payment arrives on the second, third or fourth Wednesday of the month.
These are the payment days except when one of those days is a holiday or weekend. When this happens, the Administration sends it on the immediately preceding business day, so we must be alert to this type of irregularity.
