The July calendar month has already begun and, therefore, new United States Social Security payments are underway. These payments will reach all eligible beneficiaries. Each of these payments will arrive on a different day for Americans. In order to receive the next Social Security check, only one condition must be met.
Thus, both disability retirees and age-based retirees can receive this check. While this is true, it is most common for the first Social Security payment of the month to be received by older retirees. Still, anyone could receive it. However, do not despair if you are not among these beneficiaries.
Not receiving this check does not mean that we will not collect our Social Security retirement or disability benefit in July. As we do every month, we will collect our benefit at the appropriate time. This means we will be able to get our check on time as long as there is no timely delay. Will you receive your first Social Security check tomorrow?
Who gets the first Social Security check in July?
It’s no secret that the Social Security Administration sends out benefit checks on different days. Retirees can receive their check on up to four different days. Within those four days, there are two main distinctions in beneficiaries. The first distinction is having started collecting a benefit in 1997.
Any pre-1997 beneficiary will have the advantage of always receiving the first check of the month. The Social Security Administration sends checks to these pensioners on the 3rd day of the month, with few exceptions. Retirees with benefits after that time will receive their money in the following weeks. So next payment it is not for this group of seniors. That is because these retirees have received already their check in the previous week.
When will I receive my money if I started collecting my pension after 1997?
If you did not apply for your pension before 1997, there is nothing to worry about. The Social Security Administration will still send you your check next week. However, you will have to wait a little longer to receive the money. These are the days for collecting your Age or Disability Pension in July:
- July 12th.
- July 19th.
- July 26th.
The Social Security Administration will send the benefit on the 12th day to retirees born between the 1st and 10th of any month. On the other hand, the 19th of July is for beneficiaries with birthdays between the 21st and 31st. Finally, beneficiaries who have a benefit and were born between the 21st and 31st will receive their check on July 26th.
After this date, pensioners will have to wait until May to receive their payment. If they have Supplemental Security Income, they will be able to receive it on May 1st. The rest of the payments for the month will be made on the 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th, depending on the beneficiary’s birthday.
Thanks to this calendar, we can know the exact day on which the Social Security Administration will send us our pension check. Whether we receive it on that day or not will depend on the collection method we have chosen.
