Within the June 2023 Social Security disability payments schedule we came across an irregularity. Because of this irregularity, some United States retirees could receive check very late. So late that it could even be the case that they do not receive it in June. However, it should be noted that either sooner or later, the check will reach everyone’s pockets.
But it is true that it is possible that many of these Americans will not receive their disability benefits on time. And we must keep this in mind in order to determine what our options are. In the event that we do not receive the money on time, we must plan the entire month’s economy. Otherwise we will have a lot of trouble covering all of our expenses.
If our disability benefit is prior to 1997 there is nothing to worry about. This is because the Social Security Administration even sent the check to this group in advance. To be exact, the payment arrived in American pockets on June 2nd. If your benefit is pre-1997 and you do not yet have a June check, you should claim it. Will you get your check on time in June?
Who will receive their disability benefit late?
Only one group of Social Security beneficiaries will not receive a disability benefit in June. This group is under the following conditions:
- Have had the benefit since after 1997.
- Have a birthday between the 21st and 31st of the month. In other words, you must belong to the last group of retirees to receive the benefit.
- Do not have Direct Deposit as a payment method.
If these three requirements are not met, we will be able to receive the check on time. Retirees without Direct Deposit will have to wait until July in order to be assured of receiving a check in this month. This is because the payment is due on the last Wednesday of the month. The 28th day of June is the calendar day on which the Administration will send the payment to this group.
While it is true that the money could arrive in June even without Direct Deposit, the truth is that it is usually delayed. It should be noted that it takes about 3 days for the money to reach the bank account. Since there is a weekend coming up, the money could be held up during those weekend days.
This would cause the payment to arrive in the month of July. Still, there is nothing to worry about if we know in advance. To prevent future problems it is always good to check the disability benefit payment schedule for all available information.
After this payment, the Administration will send another check within the month of June. This other check is only for beneficiaries who have the Supplemental Security Income benefit accepted. Even so, without Direct Deposit we will not receive this benefit either, since we would have to wait a few days until the money finally reaches our pocket.
