United States residents who meet certain Social Security requirements may be able to receive a double Supplemental Security Income in June. In fact, these requirements are very easy to meet and don’t require a lot of work. Therefore, almost any American who wants to can receive an extra June Supplemental Security Income check.

However, keep in mind that this does not mean more money than other Supplemental Security Income recipients. This double payment is due to a scheduling irregularity. In this sense, all beneficiaries will see their payments in advance. But not everyone will be able to enjoy the money in the same month of June.

Some Social Security beneficiaries with a Supplemental Security Income check will see a double payment next month within a few days of the month. This will depend on the collection method chosen. Therefore, beneficiaries with the appropriate payment method will be able to enjoy a double payment and will therefore have a check available early.

Why is there a double Supplemental Security Income payment in June 2023?

The double payment of the Supplemental Security Income check will occur because of a timing irregularity. Normally, the Social Security Administration sends out Supplemental Security Income payments on the 1st of the month. But when the 1st is a holiday or weekend, the Administration sends the payment on the immediately preceding business day.

In this case, we are talking about July 1st being a weekend. As this case is irregular, the payment is sent on the 30th day of June. This will, therefore, cause many retirees with this special benefit to have two checks in the same month. This does not affect other Social Security payments such as retirement or disability benefits.

And it also does not affect the total amount of money we receive from Supplemental Security Income between June and July. In the case of having a check for $400 a month, for example, we will receive a total of $800 between the two months. There is no extra check that makes it $1,200. It is the same amount of money, but we will receive it sooner.

Requirements for getting Social Security SSI early

In fact, only one requirement is mandatory to receive Social Security Supplemental Security Income early in June. The important thing is to choose the right collection method. In this case, we are talking about activating Direct Deposit. This is the only way for us to get direct payments without having to wait.

The other method of collecting any Social Security payment is by bank deposit. While the Administration will also send checks in advance by this method, your users will not receive them until a few days later. This is what will make a big difference between a Direct Deposit user and a classic money transfer user.

All of this does not mean that we will not have a Supplemental Security Income payment in July. All it means is that we will get the money sooner, it’s as simple as that. In order to avoid unwanted surprises, it is best to create a budget that will ensure that you have the amount of money you need for each day. Otherwise we may find ourselves out of money before we collect our next Social Security payment.
