For any of the United States citizens who may already have Medicare services, the card is an essential document. This type of document is personal and totally non-transferable. There are many procedures that we can do thanks to the card, so we should always have it at hand.
However, there are times when the card may be lost for reasons beyond our control. In that case, we can always ask Medicare for a new card to put it back in our pocket. If you have lost your card, you can find out how to get it back thanks to the recommendation that the Administration itself makes to users.
If you have not started using Medicare, you cannot apply for a new card. That is because you must be previously registered in the system. So pay attention in order to be able to get your card back in your possession, which has so many functions and can be so useful for American citizens.

Who can apply for Medicare?
Although U.S. citizens think that Medicare is for everyone in the United States, this is not the case. In order to be able to start enjoying these help services in the medical field, it is mandatory to meet certain requirements.
The main requirement is to be 65 years old. Before reaching that age, we cannot have Medicare, unless we have a disability. In most cases, we will not be able to access Medicare if we are not 65 years old.
Can I combine medical help with Social Security?
Social Security and Medicare benefits are fully compatible. Although we cannot get help with medical services until we are 65, we can combine the two to get double benefits.
If we apply for Social Security before the age of 65, we will not have to apply for Medicare, but we will automatically be part of the program. In that situation we should watch out for Medicare Part B. This is because it is also automatically activated and we may not be interested in it.
How many parts does Medicare have?
The Medicare service shows up to 4 different parts and each has its advantages and disadvantages. If we can access all the parts it is advisable to do so, but it is true that they cost a little extra money.
Part A, which offers the hospitalization service, is the totally free part. On the other hand, we have Part B. This part offers other services and has a payment, since it is not completely free.
As for the other parts we find Medicare Advantage (also known as Part C) and Part D, related to Drug Coverage. These last two parts are totally optional and have their own personal plans. They present a great advantage with respect to the other parts and might seem expensive. But in reality they are a cheap service if we take into account all that is included.
